Mısır ordusu sözcüsü Ahmed Muhammed Ali, yaptığı yazılı açıklamada, "14-15 ocak 2014 yapılacak anayasa referandumu sırasında güvenlik temini için İçişleri Bakanlığı ile koordinasyon içinde, ülke 160 bin asker görev başında olduğunu ve seçim güvenliği tehdit eden hiçbir eylem, kesinlikle izin verilmiyor" dedi. Referandum sırasında Mısır ordusunun hava ve deniz kuvvetleri, sınır muhafızları, özel kuvvetler ve diğer birimler ile ülke genelinde teyakkuz ve en iyi olmak için dikkat çekti açıklamada referandumun güvenliğini etkileyecek en sert tutumuna verildi.
